Dear Rally Friends,
In less than 4 weeks the 68th Tulpenrallye will start in Frankfurt, a starting point that is only 400 kilometers from Utrecht in The Netherlands. The routes have been checked, lunch and HQ locations have been visited. At a Tulpenrallye in May, we sometimes encounter snow during the re-drive, and that was also the case this year. At the moment, the final preparations are being completed. There is still a vacancy in the starting field for a small number of potential participants Are you still in doubt, sign up quickly or contact the Rallyoffice. It is important that participants install the Rallycheck app before the conformity check in Frankfurt. Please read the instructions in this Newsletter.

Tulpenrallye conformity check at Autotron Rosmalen (Dutch attendants only)
Next Saturday afternoon April 16th, the conformity check for the 68th Tulpenrallye will be organized at the Autotron, Graafsebaan 133, 5248NL in Rosmalen. The invitation was sent a few weeks ago.
To make sure the conformity check goes smoothly, we ask you to plan your arrival according to the check schedule:
14:00 – 14:45 numbers 1 through 65
14:45 – 15:30 numbers 66 to 130 inclusive
15:30 – 16:30 numbers 131 t/m 210

Important: Download Rallycheck app
During the conformity check (also in Frankfurt), an instruction sheet on the use of the Rallycheck app will be handed out at the document control. According to the regulations, the use of a telephone is forbidden during the rally. From this Tulpenrallye onwards, it is requested to take a phone out of the boot of the car at the lunch location and the finish and to type the control card into the Rallycheck app. The advantage is that the crew can immediately see how many mistakes were made. Of course, neutralizations and so on are processed later. For the Tulpenrallye organization the advantage is that all maps are fully digital in the system. Of course the digital map is compared with the physical map. Input errors are corrected by the accounting department. During the test, the stamp ‘V’ of several crews was out of place due to the rain. In a few cases, an ‘A’ was entered. Such an error is shall be corrected. However, deliberately entering something else is punished with a penalty for digital tampering.
The request to all teams is to download the Rallycheck app on at least one (1) phone before the conformity check in Rosmalen or Frankfurt. The app must be used with the email address that is present in the administration of the Tulpenrallye organization. Should this be different or incorrect, then we will correct this during the conformity check.

Practice route
The Routechefs will organize a practice ride and a rally course on April 16th, 2022 for the participants who wish to do so. We also refer to Newsletter #3 for this. In addition, it is also possible to only drive the practice ride. The costs of the practice ride are Euro 50,00. During the practice ride, the new method of handing in the control card will be used. If you participate in the practice ride, your inspection schedule will be taken into account. You can then inspect after the ride. There is a maximum of 25 places available. You can sign up for this practice ride at: info@historicrally.org. Signing up for the Rally course can still be done via the same email address.

Progress organization
In the last newsletter we informed you that Jan Berkhof and Willem van Leeuwen have driven the rally from Monday to Saturday. They came back delighted. At some points a few small adjustments were made, but the impression is that the 68th edition of the Tulpenrallye will again be a beautiful and challenging rally. Both driver and navigator will surely engage in a joyful event.

Advertising (Article 6.7 regulations)
In recent years it has been noticed that more and more advertising in the form of logos and company names are present on the cars of participants. Article 6.7 of the regulations states that the installation of personal advertising on the car is NOT allowed, not even by business registrants. All existing advertising must be removed or properly covered.
The compulsory advertising of the organization is collected on a large door sticker. In addition, participants who support the chosen charity may place two (2) stickers with the logo of the donor and one (1) sticker of the charity. All three will be provided by the organization.

Renewed results center software
With a group of competitors and a delegation of the marshals, last Thursday the first real test has been conducted with the renewed results center software. The participants used the Rallycheck app and the marshals administered their own application. After the test the results were positive, no unexpected problems occurred. The final adjustments will be made in the coming weeks.

Gravenbrucher Tour
On Sunday May 8th, 2022 the participants of the 68th Tulpenrallye can take part in the Gravenbrucher Tour practice ride. Between 12.00 and 15.00 o’clock a route book can be picked up at the Headquarter. Participation is free of charge and there is no result. Registration is necessary on April 16th, 2022 during the conformity check in the Autotron. Foreign equipes registrar by sending a mail to rallyoffice@tulpenrallye.nl with Gravenbrucher Tour as subject. We will publish a starting list for this Gravenbrucher Tour in the last Newsletter before the Tulpenrallye.
