Today, Belfort is the setting for the start, just a stone’s throw from the imposing Citadel. The route features the final major elevation changes of this edition, passing through a beautiful part of the Vosges. This largely forested region features numerous routes forestières. Experienced participants know that navigating these roads can be quite challenging.
Hans van der Kooij and Bas de Rijk managed to hold on to the lead in the Expert class after the evening lap. It is also worth mentioning that George Banken and Rob Schlaman lead the Touring class with only 32 penalty points.
Lunch was served on the shores of Lake Gérardmer, a beautiful spot to catch one’s breath for a while.
At Circuit GEOPARC, the crews were once again subjected to a lap consistency test. After that, the route headed toward the finish in Strasbourg.
