Dear rally friends,
Organising large rally events increasingly demands more from the organisers. The changing society leads to new regulations and increasing demands from the participants. For the organising team, this translates into a significant increase in workload and the required time to realise it.
As volunteers, we dedicate ourselves throughout the year to create a beautiful event, with the ultimate reward being the rally itself. Due to the changing demands and societal developments, the necessity to further professionalise the organisation is growing. Therefore, the boards of the Tulpenrallye and SLS Classic have been in discussions over the past few months to explore if and how we can combine our strengths.
We are pleased to announce that the boards of the Tulpenrallye and SLS Classic have decided last week to further explore the possibilities for an intensive collaboration. For clarity: the Tulpenrallye and SLS Classic will remain two separate rallies with their own specific characters! We have no plans to merge our characteristics or adapt them to each other.
In organising our classic rally events, we do undertake similar activities. This includes the competition secretariat, organising all hospitality, procurement and design of printed matter , financial administration, permit applications, clothing, and support in ICT and social media. We will now jointly investigate how we can merge and further professionalise all supporting tasks and responsibilities.
Looking ahead, we have the desire to also unite our efforts in sustainability and to increase the added value for sponsors of both events. In the future, we may also jointly organise new events.
In the coming period, we will further explore how we want to shape the collaboration. The intention is to organise the 2025 editions of both rallies, as well as the Tartan Classic, from the new organisation. As boards we are confident that through our collaboration, we can ensure the continuity of the Tulpenrallye and SLS Classic for the long term, in a way that is particularly beneficial to our participants.
