Dear rally friends,

The 67th Tulpenrallye is now history! No less than 29 months after the previous edition in May 2019, we started in Bordeaux. It was a special rally for everyone. For one thing, the daylight was considerably shorter and we had mouth caps and QR codes at hand. We decided to adjust the starting order so that only the Expert had to drive late without daylight. The starting time was shortened by starting two equipes in at the same minute. For the organization this took some time getting used to. For Marshalls on the TC’s and at tests, this rally was much colder than when driven in May.

From the first moment the atmosphere was good. Almost all participants had registered for the Route de la Tulipe des Châteaux.

Of course we have some learning points from this Tulpenrallye and we will take these for improvement from the evaluation to the next rally. Volunteers, partners, sponsors, organization and participants have made it a wonderful week together. We are looking forward to the 68th Tulpenrallye, on the 8th till the14th of May 2022.

With kind regards,
Organization committee 67th Tulpenrallye

Looking backwards 67th Tulpenrallye

Many participants, partners and sponsors said that the 67th Tulpenrallye was perhaps the best Tulpenrallye in years. The first two days in the quiet south-west of France the participants hardly met an oncoming car! And with half a day of rain, the weather was also in our favor. The route was varied and beautiful, but also sometimes tough and challenging. Especially from the Vintage class, we heard that the days were too long.

The past period was mainly affected by the corona virus. During the Tulpenrallye, the limitations and disadvantages were very limited. In this Tulpenrallye, unfortunately, there were also some bad luck issues. A number of damage cases, some of considerable size, ruined the week for individual participants. A few also left the rally due to illness.

The reactions show that the visibility of presence of the organization during the event has improved . A point of attention remains the time it takes to present the results on a number of rally days.

The closing party was very successful with 500 guests. The fact that we could all eat and party in one room certainly contributed to this. Detron treated us to Dutch singer Alex at the party. In the evening, during the singing of “Simply the Best”, singer Corolina Dijkhuizen climbed on the roof of the red Ford Escort to sing to the winners Bart den Hartog and Harm Lambrechts. The honoring was followed by a resounding performance by Carolina in the ballroom.

With the finish, the dinner and the party at Chateau St. Gerlach, this wonderful edition of the country’s oldest and largest historic rally came to an end. As organization we look back on a very successful event. We felt this overall atmosphere that all people involved were ready for this rally and had been looking forward to it for so long, it was a fantastic week with lots of fun and sociability.

Explanation maps 67th Tulpenrallye

Since a few editions, the explanation maps are no longer included in the back of the route book of the next day. They are published in the Tulpenrallye app. For participants who want to study the route again on paper, a paper version of the explanations maps is available on request this year. The distribution of these is restricted to participants and one copy per crew. If you would like to receive one, please send an email to rallyoffice@tulpenrallye.nl with subject “paper version explanation maps 2021” no later than the 7th of November 2021.

Registration for the 68th Tulpenrallye

Registration for the 68th Tulpenrallye starts on Sunday November, 14th 2021 at 10.00 hours. This is a different date and day than communicated before! On November, 12th  the personal invitation to attendants will be sent by email. At that moment also the draft regulations for the 68th Tulpenrallye will be online.

Photos and videos of the 67th Tulpenrallye
During the Tulpenrallye many hundreds of photographs were made by our house photographer Joost Snel. A large selection of these photos has been published on the Tulpenrallye website. Werner Budding’s video team was also present during the whole rally. Every day the day videos were published. All day videos can be watched at the YouTube channel of the Tulpenrallye.
If you want to see all episodes at once, click on this link.

Meanwhile a compilation has been made of these day videos resulting in two episodes that will be broadcasted on Ziggo Sport. After Ziggo Sport has broadcast the episodes (and a number of repeats), we will place them on the website of the Tulpenrallye. This may take some time.

Partners and sponsors of the TulpenrallyeThis edition of the Tulpenrallye has been a great success for all involved. In addition to a great group of participants and cars, this also requires a lot of volunteers. Volunteers and participants cannot create a beautiful edition of the Tulpenrallye without the support of a large group of loyal sponsors and partners. We would like to thank all sponsors big and small again for their involvement. Our special thanks go to the three partners of the Tulpenrallye: Vredestein, Detron and State of Art. Thank you so much! We look forward to continuing our relationship with all of you!

Orange Babies receives € 30,000

For quite a few years now, charity is associated with the Tulpenrallye. Although the Tulpenrallye is not a charity rally, many participants and sponsors/partners appreciate a good cause very much. By doing so, we are not only doing good for ourselves during the rally, but also for someone else. Both Orange Babies and the Tulpenrallye organization are proud of the amount raised. On behalf of Orange Babies, we would like to thank everyone to have made it possible to achieve this goal. Orange Babies will be able to provide many children with a good meal and an education thanks to this sum. A new charity will be chosen for the 68th Tulpenrallye.

Vintage class will be replaced by a new class: Veterans class

This new class will drive routes with a calmer time schedule and routes that are also suitable for Vintage cars. The “Coupe de Veterans” can be won in this class. The classification for Vintage cars remains. This will be made up over the participants with a Vintage car regardless of the class in which they participate.
